AirCreative›Client approval workflow
— CLIENT APPROVAL WORKFLOW FOR RADIO ADS

Make one person, one version and one decision unmistakably clear.

A reliable approval workflow protects the client, the station and the production deadline by separating feedback, revisions and final authorization.

Choose the approver before sending copy

Ask the advertiser to identify the person authorized to approve the script. If several stakeholders can comment, one person should still consolidate the final decision. This prevents conflicting requests from becoming invisible production risk.

Label the version being reviewed

Every approval request should identify the advertiser, campaign, script version, date and response deadline. Do not rely on attachment names such as “final-new-2.” Keep older versions available for history but make the active review version obvious.

Separate feedback from approval

  • Feedback received
  • Revision required
  • Revised version sent
  • Approved for production
  • Approval withdrawn
  • Post-approval change requested

A comment is not approval. A “looks good except…” response is a revision request. Define the decision states so account executives, writers and producers interpret them the same way.

Record the decision with the job

Preserve the approver, time, version and decision. If a post-approval change occurs, create another revision and approval cycle. That history helps resolve questions without reconstructing a chain of emails.

Frequently asked questions

What counts as client approval for a radio script?

The station should define its own policy, but approval should identify the authorized person, exact script version and clear decision to proceed.

Should production begin before approval?

Only when the station and client intentionally accept that risk, such as a clearly identified spec spot. Otherwise production should use approved copy.

How should post-approval changes be handled?

Create a new version, record the requested change and obtain approval again before final production or delivery.

Can AirCreative track approval status?

Yes. AirCreative keeps scripts, revisions, feedback and workflow status connected to the commercial record.

Protect the approved version from inbox confusion.

AirCreative keeps the approval decision attached to the commercial from writing through production.
